Lingle's campaign has raised $1.5 million
Advertiser Staff
Republican gubernatorial front-runner Linda Lingle raised about $1.5 million in the first six months of this year, she reported in her campaign finance report filed yesterday.
Lingle listed 4,803 contributors who contributed an average of $318 to her campaign between Jan. 1 and June 30. Her campaign reported that 73 percent of the contributions came from Hawai'i residents and 27 percent from Mainland contributors. She had about $1.13 million on hand at the end of the reporting period.
Lingle has said her campaign has budgeted spending of about $5 million, and that about 20 percent of that would likely come from sources outside Hawai'i.
Democratic gubernatorial candidate D.G. "Andy" Anderson raised about $220,000 during the first half of the year and had about $45,000 as of June 30.
Gubernatorial candidates Mazie Hirono, Ed Case and John Carroll had not filed their campaign reports as of yesterday. Today is the deadline for candidates to disclose to the state Campaign Spending Commission how much money their campaigns have raised and spent.
