HBO special sparks offer for counseling

Advertiser Staff

St. Francis Hospice children's grief program is offering counseling for children and teens in conjunction with a broadcast today of the HBO Family documentary "Love, Josh."

The 35-minute special, which airs at 6 p.m., chronicles the life of Josh Keogh, a 15-year-old whose family was shattered when his father died of liver cancer six weeks after he was diagnosed. The show follows Josh over the next year as he deals with the loss.

St. Francis is one of 250 organizations participating in a nationwide effort to reach out to grieving young people. Felicia Marquez-Wong, St. Francis' 2001 medical social worker of the year, will lead the bereavement program this summer. For information about the counseling being offered, call 595-7566.
