"Minute by Minute," 7 and 11 p.m., A&E. For eight months of each year, the South Pole is so frigid that planes can't land there. So a doctor conducting research alone there had to treat herself when she discovered she had breast cancer. More than 40 people worked frantically to rescue her even the military air dropped equipment for a biopsy and chemo-therapy. This true story of Dr. Jerri Nielsen and her medical battle is a rich human portrait, told first-person by people whom viewers will like instantly.
