Kop advances in Manoa Cup

Kop led 3-up at the turn, when Phengsavath bogeyed No. 8 and 9, and closed out the match at the par-3 16th with a par.
"Every year its getting harder," said Kop, 41, a four-time Manoa Cup champion. "You've got to out-think them, out-train them (his opponents).
"Last year I lost in the first round. That opens your eyes."
Phengsavath, who turns 27 next Monday, won the State Amateur championship in March and teamed with Phil Anamizu to capture the Francis Brown Four-Ball title last month.
Nino went 19 holes to defeat 2000 Manoa champion Randy Shibuya; Fujita edged Junior Agpaoa, 1-up; Toyama defeated Kristofer Baptist, 3 and 2; Nakamura beat Gary Kong on the 19th hole; Victorino ousted Garrett Okamura, 3 and 2; Kim defeated Shannon Tanoue, 5 and 4; and Higashiyama beat Steven Nguyen, 2-up.
The first of four quarterfinal matches Higashiyama vs. Kim tees off at 7 a.m. from the first tee. In other matches, Victorino plays Nakamura, Kop faces Nino and Fujita takes on Toyama.

Tyson-Lewis on TV: Saturday's heavyweight boxing match between Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis will be shown on pay TV at the All Star Cafe. Tickets are $30.
The undercard starts at 3 p.m.
