Longs Drug fined for liquor sales
Advertiser Staff
Longs Drug Stores was fined $3,000 yesterday after pleading no contest to charges of selling liquor to minors.
The Honolulu Liquor Commission fined Longs Drug $2,000 for allowing a minor to purchase alcohol at its King Street store on March 14. Businesses typically are fined $1,000 for this violation, but Longs was found guilty of a similar charge in April 2001 and was given the stiffer fine.
The commission also levied a $1,000 fine on Longs for selling alcohol to a minor at its Ala Moana Center store March 7. That was the store's first offense.
