A 3-year-old pit/sharpei mix, Lovey is a lanky, brown dog with big, golden eyes. Aptly named, she is a lover, not a fighter. She will make fast progress with obedience training where the rewards are praise and petting.

The Hawaiian Humane Society's adoptions, lost-animal retrieval service and McInerny Dog Park are open noon to 8 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekends and holidays at 2700 Wai'alae Ave. It is open 24 hours a day for incoming animals and emergency rescues.
