David Allen Dearmond, a 32-year-old petty officer second class, is being held at the Ford Island brig as the suspect in the case.

The bodies of Dearmond's 31-year-old wife, Zaleha, and mother-in-law, Saniah Binte Abdul Ghani, were found in the couple's Hokulani subdivision home.

Mrs. Dearmond died of cranial cerebral injuries due to blunt force to the head, according to the medical examiner's office. Her mother died of "injuries to chest and abdominal organs due to stab wounds," according to officials.
