JOHN J. HULTEN, 88, John J. Hulten, former state senator and longtime proponent of an interisland ferry system, died Sunday. The Kailua resident was 88.

NANCY LEE BENNETT VON, a public relations consultant for commercial, professional and nonprofit organizations in Hawai'i, died June 6. She was 60.
