A smorgasbord of Na Hoku Hanohano Award winners will perform at Chai's Island Bistro all next week as the Aloha Tower Marketplace eatery celebrates some of the artists' recent music award victories.

Performers scheduled includes Jake Shimabukuro, Amy Hanaiali'i Gilliom, Ernie Cruz Jr., Mana'o Company and Robert Cazimero.

Owner, chef and apparent live music connoisseur Chai Chaowasaree said that when it came to choosing musicians for the dinnertime music series, he simply made a list of some of his favorites and checked who was available.

"I think these entertainers are some of the most talented around right now," said Chaowasaree. "And we always like giving our customers a little more when they come and dine with us."

All performances — except Robert Cazimero's Father's Day buffet brunch appearances today — will start at 7 p.m. Admittance is free with $20 minimum food bill.

The Mana'o Company's June 21st performance will be broadcast live on KFVE as part of the television station's "Hot Hawaiian Nights at Aloha Tower" summer music series.

The performance schedule for the week:

  • 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. today: Robert Cazimero.
  • 7 p.m. today: Melveen Leed.
  • 7 p.m. tomorrow: Azure McCall.
  • Tuesday: Ernie Cruz, Jr. and Barry Flanagan.
  • Wednesday: Amy Hanaiali'i Gilliom.
  • Thursday: Jake Shimabukuro.
