Hawaiian Airlines adds Maui-San Francisco flight

Advertiser Staff

Hawaiian Airlines announced yesterday that it has added a daily nonstop flight to Maui from San Francisco. At the same time, it said it is resuming service to Maui from Los Angeles after an eight-month hiatus.

It was the second time in recent days that the airline has expanded its service to Hawai'i. Earlier this month, Hawaiian added nonstop service to O'ahu from Sacramento and Ontario, Calif.

Hawaiian will now offer a dozen daily nonstop flights to Hawai'i from seven markets in the western portion of the U.S. Mainland. According to the company, the new flights will add 7,000 seats a week to the state, half of which will go to Maui.

The airline also said next year it will replace its fleet of DC-10 aircraft operating between Hawai'i and the Mainland and two destinations in the South Pacific with 16 Boeing 767-300ER wide-body aircraft.
