UH will play at least 2 on ESPN

Advertiser Staff

The University of Hawai'i has at least two games and Fresno State six on ESPN this football season, the Western Athletic Conference announced today.

Under the terms of the two-year-old WAC contract with ESPN, the network is obligated to show at least four games involving conference members. This year at least eight games are scheduled.

This is in addition to the Dec. 25 Hawai'i Bowl and Dec. 31st Humanitarian Bowl, which will feature WAC teams and both be shown on ESPN. Those games do not count against the conference minimum.

The Sept. 6 UH game at Brigham Young and Oct. 25 game at Fresno State are Friday games that will be shown on ESPN.

A WAC official said it was "likely" a UH game with Alabama on Nov. 30 would also be shown once the schools sign contracts. Alabama is expected to replace Washington State on that date on the UH schedule.
