Navy to discuss contaminants

Advertiser Staff

The Navy will discuss its investigation into possible chemical dumping over the years at the Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station in the Whitmore Village area during a community meeting tonight in Wahiawa.

The Wahiawa Neighborhood Board meeting is set for 7 p.m. at the Whitmore Gym at 1259 Whitmore Ave.

The Navy is trying to determine whether the contaminants pose a risk to public health or the environment.

Clint Jenkins, a Whitmore resident and co-chairman of the Wahiawa Restoration Advisory Board assisting with the cleanup, will attend.
