TIP-OFF
No Doubt coming back to Honolulu Aug. 10

Get ready to feel hella good again.

Honolulu concert favorites No Doubt are returning for a Blaisdell Arena performance on Sat., Aug. 10 at 7 p.m.

Tickets will go on sale at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Blaisdell box office, all Ticket Plus outlets, University of Hawai'i-Manoa Campus Center, Foodland stores and military outlets. Charge by phone at 526-4400. Tickets are $28.50 and $38.50.

Confessed fans of Hawai'i concert stops, No Doubt — vocalist Gwen Stefani, guitarist Tom Dumont, bassist Tony Kanal, and oft-nekked, always charismatic drummer Adrian Young — last performed here in October 2000 at Andrews Outdoor Theatre. Before that, the band played May 1998's Nomad Festival at Richardson Field; a Big Mele with Cypress Hill, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones and others in November 1996; and an opening gig for 311 at After Dark (now the World Café) in October 1995.

Touring Europe this year in support of its fifth album "Rock Steady," the rock-pop 'n' ska torchbearers will follow up their Honolulu concert with a two-week swing through Asia and Australia. "Rock Steady" debuted at the top of the Billboard album chart in January and has so far spawned the radio hits "Hey Baby," "Underneath It All," and current single "Hella Good."

Stefani's duet with Eve on last year's radio hit "Let Me Blow Ya Mind" got both artists Grammy Awards for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration in March. The song was Stefani's second semi-solo foray outside of No Doubt after "South Side," a 1999 duet with Moby.
