Wednesday's eight-hour Muzik Independence Day Massive will gather a genre-busting collection of notable local DJs to spin for a good cause.

The all-ages DJ party will feature Stone Groove Family, The Sandman, Sub-Zero, G-Spot, Goodvybe, Wu-Chang and Kutmaster Spaz throwin' down enough hip-hop, house, R&B, reggae and Hawaiian turntable fireworks to kick in the Fourth of July with the proper bang. Also slated is a live performance by D-Ru, contests and giveaways, and an awards ceremony.

The evening benefits Musical Youth of Hawaii, a nonprofit organization that offers educational and creative workshops for teenagers considering careers in music production, manufacturing and marketing. Taught by industry professionals, Musical Youth's free how-to workshops include insights on becoming a radio broadcaster, promoter, producer, record label head and club DJ, among other potential career choices.

At World Café, 8 p.m.-4 a.m. Wednesday. $10 at the door. 479-3008.
