Fatal Big Island crash unresolved

HILO, Hawai'i — When Bobby Ishikawa died in a Feb. 16 crash on the Hawai'i Belt Road, police said he was the driver of the 1997 Acura Integra involved in the single-car wreck.

Now investigators say Ishikawa, 20, of O'okala, was a passenger in the vehicle. Two other men were in the car, and police are trying to determine who was behind the wheel. Police said speed and alcohol are believed to have been factors in the crash.
