'Oz' season captured on video, DVD
Fans of HBO's "Oz" will soon get to relive the prison drama's beginnings. "Oz: The Complete First Season" will be released on video March 19 as a boxed set of four VHS tapes or three DVDs.
The show, set in an urban prison known as Emerald City, examines the politics and dynamics of the relationships between inmates and the people who oversee them. All eight episodes of the first season will be included in the boxed sets.
The DVD package includes a number of extras, including the video for "Behind the Walls" by Kurupt featuring Nate Dogg, which is featured on the "Oz" soundtrack.

McDonald's will be the first corporate sponsor for programming on the commercial-free Disney Channel.
The food retailer will air sponsorship messages during Disney Channel's programs for preschoolers, with the 15-second spots adhering to "PBS style guidelines," Disney said. The messages will air before or after shows. There are no direct references to product sales or inducements to buy, the channel said.
The move is part of the channel's "evolution" from a premium subscription service to a more widely distributed basic cable network, said Anne Sweeney, president of ABC Cable Networks Group and Disney Channel Worldwide. The channel reaches almost 80 million homes.

Does anyone know how to say "Congratulations" in Spanish? Honolulu-bound Ozomatli's tasty brew of salsa, jazz, hip-hop and funk won a Grammy last week in the category of best Latin rock/alternative album, for "Embrace The Chaos."
The Grammy win was the Los Angeles-based band's first. The New York Daily News reported that when asked how their music should be categorized, the band shunned the "alternaLatin" pigeonhole. They prefer "Pop."
"Embrace" was nominated last week for two Latin Billboard Music Awards, for Latin Rock Album of the Year and Pop Album of the Year, Group. The Billboard ceremony is May 9. Ozomatli plays a single show at the World Cafe on March 19. For information, call 526-4400.
