Lane, of Fresno State, shared the honor with Erica Smith of regular-season champion Louisiana Tech.

Lane, a 6-footer, ranked fourth in the WAC in rebounding with 8.3 per game. She also was in the top 12 in field-goal percentage (45.6) and free throw percentage (72.2) and averaged 9.1 points per game.

She had seven double-doubles (points and rebounds).

"Aritta has been a star for us the entire season. Normally, it takes a freshman some time to get their feet wet, but she stepped right in and was a force immediately. And she continued to be one of our offensive and defensive weapons every game. Aritta has a very bright future in this program," Fresno State spokesman Jake Bragonier said.

Despite Lane's efforts, Fresno State lost 10 of its last 11 games and takes a 9-19 overall and 4-14 WAC record into the league tournament at Tulsa tomorrow.

Last season, Lane helped 'Aiea win its first state high school girls basketball championship.
