UH Wahine advance to WAC championship

The University of Hawaii Rainbow Wahine basketball team today ousted Rice, 59-36, to advance to the championship of the Western Athletic Conference Tournament in Tulsa, Okla.Karena Greeny scored 12 points, Janka Gabrielova 11 and Christen Roper 10 to lead the Wahine (23-6), who had lost twice previously to Rice (21-8).
The Rainbow Wahine play for the title 9 a.m. Saturday Hawaii time. They will play the winner of the Louisiana Tech-Tulsa game that was scheduled to be played later today.
