Faith briefs

Temple Emanu-El, 2550 Pali Highway, a reformed Jewish congregation, is host to two lectures this month as part of its 7 p.m. Shabat (sabbath) services. Programs begin at about 7:30, after the service.

Friday: Kathy Ferguson, a professor in the UH-Manoa women's studies department, will speak on "Political Theory in the Streets." She'll be focusing on unionist Emma Goldman.

March 22: Retired rabbi William Leffler, who co-wrote a book, will talk on "Jews and Mormons: Two Houses of Israel."
