FUN HOUSE
Papa insists on wearing shirt his way

Submitted by Ann Uemura

Although Papa just turned 86, he is still pretty sharp (must be the Kumamoto blood). So it worries me when he does something unusual. He started to wear one of his favorite T-shirts backward so that the slogan ("Ganbatte — Never give up!") would appear in the front.

Finally, I had to say, "Did you know you got your shirt on backwards?"

"I know," he replied in a defensive tone. "I want to be able to see the print in the mirror whenever I go to the bathroom. It encourages me."

Does it embarrass me when he goes out with his shirt on backward? Not one bit.
