Beach brunch had a good week
Advertiser Staff
Brunch on the Beach continues to provide an economic and psychological boost for Waikiki, giving some residents a reason to go to a part of town they often avoid and spicing up the activity list for tourists.
Sunday, the once-monthly event lasted three hours and grossed $43,319, according to Rick Egged, president of the Waikiki Improvement Association. It was the most successful Sunday since August, when Brunch on the Beach earned $45,000 and drew about 10,000 people. Collections in January totaled $33,550, and February grossed $35,692.
