Tonight's Must-See

"The Job," 8:30 p.m., ABC. This show has great fun giving Detective Mike McNeill (Denis Leary) the trouble he deserves. That peaks wonderfully tonight, when his partner, Pip, has a 25th wedding anniversary party. Soon, the little house and yard include McNeill's wife — and McNeill's mistress — and hard-drinking cops — and Tommy's new girlfriend, the ex-prisoner who likes to punch and yell — and Pip's stuffy in-laws, who consider it demeaning to call a black man Pip. The result is broad and funny.

Of Note

"Survivor: Marquesas," 7 p.m., CBS. This show moves to Wednesdays for two weeks, to make room for college basketball. Tonight, the third person is ousted.

"The Simpsons," 7 p.m., Fox. In a transplanted rerun, Homer becomes quieter — mostly because his jaw is wired shut.

"My Wife and Kids," 7 p.m., ABC. Here's a rerun of the episode in which Michael spends too much time with his video game.

"According to Jim," 7:30 p.m., ABC. Remember when "Seinfeld" satirized the big-city obsession with a good parking spot? Tonight, that happens to Jim.

"The West Wing," 8 p.m., NBC. In a rerun, the staff hustles to block an override of a presidential veto.

"Guilt by Association," 7 p.m. & 9 p.m., Court TV. Here's the first movie made for Court TV. Merdedes Ruehl plays a woman who faced a mandatory-minimum sentence, while insisting she knew nothing about her boyfriend's drug scheme.

"The Amazing Race 2," 8 p.m., CBS. This well-made reality show settles into its regular spot, for its second episode.

"Celebrity Boxing," 8 p.m., Fox. One match is supposed to be Partridge-vs.-Brady (Danny Bonaduce and Barry Williams). Another has Tonya Harding and Paula Jones. Hey, "Celebrity Deathmatch" is funny because it's make-believe.

"After Dark" premiere, 7 p.m. & 11 p.m., A&E. This launches a series looking at spots with a hot night life. Tonight, is Miami's South Beach.

"City Confidential," 8 p.m. & midnight, A&E. After looking cheerily at Miami, A&E now looks back at a 1986 murder case there.
