Tonight's Must See:
- "My Guide to Becoming a Rock Star," premiere, 7 and 7:30 p.m., WB. This comedy series is inconsistent, but has moments of great fun. It also has some clever casting. Playing a rock-star wannabe is Oliver Hudson, who should know the turf. His dad (Bill Hudson) has been a rocker and comedian, his mom (Goldie Hawn) is a movie star and his sister (Kate Hudson) has played the ultimate groupie. Fortunately, he also has talent and likability. Now he's surrounded by interesting people. Michael Des Barre (who really was a rock singer, replacing Robert Palmer in Power Station) and Shannon Tweed (the former Playmate) play his parents. Lauren Hodges, a kickboxer, plays a tough bass player. In this first episode, Hudson's band battles with its nasty manager (Rick Overton). In the second, it adds a keyboard and turntable whiz, played by the stunningly beautiful Canadian actress Emmanuelle Vaugier.

- "Will & Grace," 8 p.m., NBC. In a rerun, these friends back opposing mayoral candidates. Will likes the gay guy. Grace likes the Jewish woman.
- "Horatio Hornblower: The Duchess and the Devil" (1999), 7 p.m. & 11 p.m., A&E. This excellent movie finds the young officer in a Spanish jail, where a noblewoman (Cherie Lunghi) is attracted to him.
