Police chased and arrested two male suspects, 18 and 14, after a 32-year-old Mililani woman was robbed and slashed in Waikiki early yesterday.

The woman was walking in the Kuhio Avenue-Pao'akalani Street area at about 12:44 a.m. when two teenagers approached and asked for her phone number, police said.

When she refused, one of them hit her with a baton-type weapon, police said. She dropped her purse, which the other man picked up. The older man tore off her necklaces and slashed her face with a knife and the younger teen kicked her twice in the back, police said.

The two fled, but police said officers caught the suspects around 1 a.m., near Jefferson Elementary School. Charges are pending.
