Kahuku grad Mili re-signs with Seattle

Advertiser News Services

The Seattle Seahawks re-signed tight end Itula Mili to a three-year contract yesterday, making it less likely that they'll re-sign starter Christian Fauria.

Mili, a sixth-round draft pick in 1997 from Brig-ham Young and former Kahuku High standout, played in all 16 games last season, catching eight passes for 98 yards and two touchdowns. He caught a career-high 28 passes in 2000 and has 42 career catches.

The Seahawks didn't disclose terms of the contract, but Mili's agent, Brian Treggs, said it was for three years.

Fauria, a seven-year veteran, caught only 21 passes last season, his lowest total since 1997. He played in all 16 games and had 188 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Fauria is an unrestricted free agent.
