Cruel Theatre revives 'Heresy'

Cruel Theatre, O'ahu's interactive theater group, will revive its 1999 production, "Heresy," at 8 p.m. April 11, 12, 18 and 19 at Church of the Crossroads.

"Heresy" deals with an experience at a witch trial and explores the European witch mania and its relationship to crisis in the church. It taps sociopolitical, psychological and economic motivations and the darker side of human nature.

In keeping with its audience-involvement tactics, the production involves the viewers as villagers, with each member in the crowd able to become the protagonist. However, those who do not wish to actively participate may watch passively.

Tickets: $12 for adults, $7 for students, on sale before curtain time.
