Second year for piano recital party

The folks at Ernest Chang Piano Studio have turned a piano recital into a clever party, a success last year. "Piano Playing Party II" is on tap at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Orvis Auditorium, University of Hawai'i-Manoa.

The show will roll out like a Chinese menu, with selections likened to Peking duck, spring roll, shark-fin soup and fortune cookies.

It's a benefit for the Honolulu and Maui symphony orchestras, Hawaii Opera Theatre and the University of Hawai'i Music Department.
