TIP-OFF
Catch singer Tyrese in concert here

By Derek Paiva

Easy-on-the-eyes R&B crooner Tyrese will perform a single concert at the World Cafe March 30.

Also a successful actor and model, Tyrese scored a No. 10 debut on the Billboard album chart last May with his sophomore CD "2000 Watts."

Raised in the Watts district of Los Angeles, Tyrese got his first big break in a popular 1995 Coca-Cola ad that showcased his soulful voice. His 1998 RCA Records debut, "Tyrese," gave up the pop and R&B hits "Lately," "Nobody Else" and "Sweet Lady."

As an actor, Tyrese has appeared on the television series "Moesha" and "Hangin' With Mr. Cooper." Last year, Tyrese won the high-profile lead role in director John Singleton's film "Baby Boy." He has modeled for Guess? and Tommy Hilfiger.

Now signed to J Records, Tyrese served as the opening act on a number of Janet Jackson's "All For You" tour dates (excluding her Honolulu HBO concert).

Pre-sale tickets, at $15, are available at the World Cafe, Tower Records & Video stores, Hungry Ear and military ticket outlets. To charge tickets by phone, call the cafe at 585-2877. Tickets at the door will be $20. The concert starts at 9 p.m.
