March 30 — Free USGA Rules Clinic. At the Dunes at Maui Lani. From 10 a.m.-noon, and the Hawai'i Prince Golf Club from 3 p.m.-5 p.m. Clinic is held outdoors where ruling situations will be illustrated in simulated fairways. Preregistration is not necessary. Information: Melanie Ito, 384-8191.
April 1 — Deadline for 14th Annual "City Bank Helps Maui" Golf Tournament to be held April 21 at Makena Course, North Course. May 17 — Deadline for David S. Ishii Foundation Golf Tournament to be held June 5 at Pearl Country Club. Check-in at 11 a.m., noon shotgun start. Format: three-person modified scramble. Fee: $250 individual, $750 team. Field limited to first 72 teams. Information: Lorraine Ishii, 754-7576.
Po'ipu Bay Golf Course Golf Promotions. Prepaid Golf Package: Available to golfers who want to pre-purchase packages of five or 10 rounds of golf. Five rounds: $550; 10 rounds: $1,000. Additional savings offered to guests staying at Hyatt Regency Kaua'i Resort and Spa. Second-round rate: $95 for golfers who want to play a second round at the course within seven days of their first round, between times of 11 a.m-noon and 2 p.m.-3 p.m. Standard fee is $185. Weekly mini-tournament: 18-holes, limited to 24 players, takes place every Friday or Saturday, with tee times beginning at 11 a.m. Fee: $100.
