Aston names new president

Kelvin Bloom, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Aston Hotels & Resorts, will become president of the company Monday, following an arbitration decision last week that removed Aston founder Andre Tatibouet as president.
Bloom had been Aston's acting chief executive since Tatibouet was placed on administrative leave about two years ago when Tennessee-based ResortQuest International, which bought the Aston chain from Tatibouet in 1998, accused Tatibouet of secretly entering into a transaction with a ResortQuest competitor to sell the rights to the Aston name outside Hawai'i.
Bloom is the founding president of Castle Resorts & Hotels. He joined Aston in 1998.
