The Rainbow Wahine (7-8) dropped to 2-5 in the conference while LBSU (9-7) is 2-3. Hawai'i plays another MPSF match Tuesday against UC-Santa Barbara, which shares the No. 9 national ranking.
The Rainbows got off 19 shots to the Beach's 17, but never led. The score was tied at 1 after the first quarter. Angelica Garcia scored the first of her three goals to put Long Beach ahead 2-1 at halftime.

16th straight for Komine: Honolulu's Shane Komine won his 16th straight Big 12 Conference game, and tied the Nebraska record with his 16th career complete game as the Cornhuskers defeated Texas Tech 3-1 yesterday in Lincoln, Neb.
Komine (5-0), a senior right-hander, allowed five hits, walked none and struck out nine in his first complete game this season. A ninth-inning home run prevented Komine from getting a shutout.
"I had control of all my pitches today," Komine said. "I had them off balance until the ninth inning. I just wish I had that pitch back." He retired 14 of 15 at one point.
Komine has a 1.17 earned run average and 58 strikeouts in 46 innings this season.
Komine, a two-time All-American, increased his other Nebraska career records to 453 strikeouts, 36 wins, 52 starts and 380¡ innings pitched. His career home-field record is 18-0.
His last conference defeat was nearly two years ago, 4-2 to Baylor on March 31, 2000.
Komine is a 1998 Kalani High graduate.
