Senior center compiling list
Windward Senior Day Care Center wants to organize a support group that includes past participants and regular backers of the nonprofit organization.
The adult daycare center, located at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, is compiling a mailing list to establish a Friends of Windward Senior Day Care network, said Kelika Gunderson, center director.
This year will mark the center's 27th year of operation.

Flower pots OK at Punchbowl
With the Easter season approaching, potted plants and artificial flowers may be placed at gravesites at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific starting Tuesday.
All items will be removed April 8.
Permanent plantings, statues, vigil lights, glass objects and toys are prohibited at the cemetery in Punchbowl.
Interim clinics offer TB help
The state Health Department's tuberculosis-control program has moved from the Lanakila Health Center to Dillingham Shopping Plaza and Le'ahi Hospital and will offer its services there for about a year while the center is renovated.
The Dillingham clinic, in Suite 214, will administer skin tests.
The clinic at Le'ahi Hospital administers chest X-rays. It is on the first floor near the main entrance. Parking is limited, but additional space opens up after 1 p.m.
Patients needing medication refills can call 832-3533.
Chinese school seeks memoirs
Organizers of Mun Lun Chinese School's 91st anniversary celebration are asking former students to submit their recollections for a commemorative booklet due out in November.
"These can be about what you learned, favorite teachers, friends or activities treasured," said Marietta Chong Eng, president of the Mun Lun Alumni Association. Vintage photographs will be appreciated.
Memories, handwritten or typed, should be confined to one page. They can be written in Chinese. Organizers request a photo of the author, as well as name, address and telephone number.

CENTRAL
New gym opens at Waipahu park
The city opened the Waipahu Gym and Recreation Complex at Waipahu District Park last weekend.
The facilities include a gym with bleachers and a boxing ring, air conditioning, a recreation building for meeting and activity space, and staff offices.
The project contractor was Allied Construction Inc.
The $5 million complex replaces a gym built more than 41 years ago as part of the Waipahu Recreation Center.
