Iolani edges University High in ILH, 43-40

Jackie Sasaki scored 10 points as Iolani beat University High, 43-40, in an Interscholastic League of Honolulu game last night at Iolani.

Kamehameha's Megan Ching tried to dribble past Maryknoll's Shannon Riley in an ILH game at Punahou. Kamehameha won, 72-55.

Sasaki scored six points in the fourth quarter when the Raiders outscored the Junior Rainbows 14-11.

Iolani made five 3-point shots, including two by Sasaki.

Diane Okubo scored 20 points to lead University High.

• MID-PACIFIC 8, KAMEHAMEHA 3: Patrick McGuigan pitched a complete game and the Owls scored six runs in the first inning en route to an Interscholastic League of Honolulu victory at Ala Wai Field.

McGuigan struck out eight and walked one.

The Owls scored six runs on four hits and one Warrior error in the first, including a run-scoring double by Matt Inouye. Ten Owls went to the plate in the inning.

Kahe Santos hit a solo homer for Kamehameha.

Neizmann, who finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs, doubled in Blaine Bernardes to tie the game at 7.

Bernardes batted 3-for-4 and also pitched a complete game with one walk and four strikeouts.
