It's the deadline to submit nominations for the AMERICAN SOCIETY OF SAFETY ENGINEERS (Hawai'i Chapter) Excellence in Safety Awards, recognizing businesses for promoting occupational safety. Nominations are accepted in three categories small employers (fewer than 50 employees), medium employers (50-125), and large employers (more than 125 ). Judging will be based on two criteria a better-than-average worker injury rate for their industry, and maintenance of a safety program meeting Hawai'i Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards. Awards will be presented at an April 25-26 conference at the Sheraton-Waikiki. Information and forms: call 564-8244.
