What's open and closed Kuhio Day

Here's what's open and closed Kuhio Day, today.

GOVERNMENT

  • Federal offices: Open
  • State offices: Closed
  • City, county offices: Closed

SCHOOLS

  • Public: Closed for Spring Break
  • UH: Spring Break i no classes; offices closed; both Sinclair Library and Hamilton libraries closed.

PUBLIC SERVICES

  • Libraries: Closed. (Six — Waialua; Kailua, Kona, Big Island; Kihei, Lahaina, Lana'i and Princeville — will be closed today and tomorrow.)
  • TheBus: State holiday schedule, with express service, and slightly reduced, regular weekday service for major military bases, and downtown.
  • On-street parking: Free, except for metered Kalakaua Avenue spaces next to Kapi'olani Park; holiday towaway parking as permitted by sign; municipal lot meters must be fed.
  • Traffic: No coning
  • Trash: Regular residential and business pickup.
  • Landfills and convenience centers: Open
  • Open Markets: Closed
  • Municipal golf courses: Open
  • City Recreation Centers: Open
  • Mail: Post offices open; regular residential and business delivery, and collection (blue) box pickups.
  • Handi-Van: Operating
  • Humane Society: Open, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; 24-hour animal drop-off.
  • Blood bank: Dillingham center, open; downtown center, closed.

  • Banks/savings and loans/credit unions: Check with your respective institution.
