Won gold medal at 138 pounds in U.S. Girls Wrestling Association National Championships.

Kaimuki girls basketball

Senior guard held two of O'ahu's most prolific scorers, Kalani's Ashley Takata and Kalaheo's Bre Carson (played only a half because of injured ankle), to a combined total of one field goal.

15-year-old sophomore, youngest finalist in the event, took ninth place in the 400 individual medley in 4:33.75 at the USA Swimming Spring Nationals.

Punahou girls wrestling

Won gold medal at 114 pounds in U.S. Girls Wrestling Association National Championships.

Kamehameha track and field

Senior ran 300 low hurdles in 39.07 seconds, faster than his winning time in state championships last year, and ran 110 high hurdles in 15.0.

Moanalua girls wrestling

Won gold medal at 152 pounds in U.S. Girls Wrestling Association National Championships.

Punahou track and field

Senior ran 1,500 meters in 4:13.09, almost two seconds faster than his winning time in state championships last year.


• EVERETT PAVO
Pearl City judo

Won silver medal at USA Judo's High School National Championships.


• DALIA SORIA
Kaimuki girls basketball

Junior forward had double-doubles in two games — 21 points, 19 rebounds against Kalani, and 23 points, 11 rebounds against Kalaheo. She also blocked four shots against Kalani.


• HONGZHE SUN
Iolani swimming

16-year-old junior finished eighth in the 100 backstroke at the USA Swimming Spring Nationals in 58.51 seconds, competing with some of the best in the world.

• BRITTNEY AIWOHI, Sacred Hearts girls basketball — Scored 21 vs. Mid-Pacific, her third 20-plus effort in four games. She leads O'ahu scoring with 20.7 average, including 34 vs. unbeaten Punahou.

• RYAN BASCO, Mid-Pacific baseball — Pitched 6-hit shutout vs. St. Louis.

• KELLY FIGUEIRA, Sacred Hearts track and field — Ran 100 meters in 12.73 seconds, 200 in 26.30 and long jumped 17-2 in weekly ILH meet.

• TIMOTHY FLOWERS, Leilehua track and field — Named boys Outstanding Athlete of the George Yamamoto Invitational Relays, winning the long jump, 100, and running on winning 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams.

• NICK FREITAS, Kamehameha baseball — Singled in tying and winning runs in seventh inning against St. Louis.

• ISAAC KAMAI, Kamehameha baseball — Pitched 5-hit shutout vs. Iolani.

• PATRICK McGUIGAN, Mid-Pacific baseball — Pitched complete game, 8-3 victory over Kamehameha, striking out eight and walking one, and pitched one inning of scoreless relief against Pac-Five.

• EARL MEDEIROS, Wai'anae boys golf — Shot 1-under-par 70 at Makaha Valley to win OIA weekly meet.

• JENNIFER MIYAHIRA, Mid-Pacific girls wrestling — Won silver medal at 126 pounds at U.S. Girls Wrestling Association National Championships.

• JON NAKASONE, Roosevelt track and field — Ran 11.1 in 100 meters at Sakamoto Invitational.

• CHRIS SOUZA, Kamehameha boys golf — Shot 2-under-par 70 at Leilehua to win weekly ILH meet.

• JERRELL TAITUAVE, Waipahu girls basketball — Scored 10 points against Nanakuli, helping Marauders win their first regular-season game in two years.

• SHANTEL TILTON, Castle girls basketball — Made 4-of-4 free throws in the final minute and had 22 points in 46-45 victory over Kailua.

• ANNA TONG, Kaiser girls wrestling — Won silver medal at 144 pounds for second year in a row at U.S. Girls Wrestling Association National Championships.
