Downtown galleries plan open house

Advertiser Staff

Mike Yang of the Pacific American Art Gallery says the tourism industry and Honolulu's downtown business district need to look at "more creative, cooperative strategic efforts" to revive the local economy. Emphasis on creative.

Downtown art galleries will be doing their part 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday with the second installment of the Downtown Gallery Walk series.

The gallery walk has nine stops: Ramsay Galleries, Picture City Art and Framing, The Pegge Hopper Gallery, The ARTS at Marks Garage, Ming's Antiques, a second-floor lobby gallery at 1132 Bishop St., the Louis Pohl Gallery, Pacific American Art Gallery and Pitre Fine Art.

You can have your art and eat, too: Admission is free, and participating restaurants in the area will offer discounts to participants that day.

Call the Pacific American Art Gallery for more details: 533-2836.
