Tonight's Must-See

• "Wednesday" premiere, 8:30 p.m., ABC. One of the wittiest pilots in years has one of the worst titles. The show is a delight from Peter Tolan, who's also been the producer of "The Job" and "The Larry Sanders Show." This is big, broad humor, with wonderful, funny surprises.

Of Note

• "The George Lopez Show" premiere, 7:30 p.m., ABC. The world needs more comedies about families and more Hispanic stars. So we'll welcome this show even though it's unexceptional.
• "The Bernie Mac Show," 8 p.m., Fox. After seeing a well-behaved family, Mac decides to crack down on the kids he's caring for.
