Minnie Marciel, retired Punahou staffer, dead at 86

Minnie Marciel, retired cafeteria manager for Punahou School, died March 20. She was 86.

Marciel was born in Honolulu and worked at Punahou for more than 20 years as a dormitory cook and cafeteria manager. For 15 years, she coordinated food preparation for the school's annual carnival.

Marciel was the mother of former St. Louis School football coach Ronald Marciel and Honolulu Advertiser sales manager Robert Marciel.

Minnie Marciel also is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Allinson; sister, Adele Garcia; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation 8:30-9 a.m. Tuesday at Star of the Sea, Mass 9 a.m.; burial to follow at Diamond Head Memorial Park.
