Students compete at science fair

Nearly 500 students nominated from numerous public and private school science fairs will compete for $60,000 in awards at the 45th Hawai'i State Science and Engineering Fair on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Blaisdell Center Exhibition Hall.

The fair, sponsored by the Hawai'i Academy of Arts, will be open to the public from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday. An awards ceremony will be held at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Admission to the fair is free.
