Little Red Riding Hood sings soprano. At least in this production she does.
Children and adults can see the popular storybook character and her nemesis, the Big Bad Wolf, come to life through opera in "Hawaii Opera Theatre's Opera Express 2002: Little Red Riding Hood."
The 35-minute production, which has a cast of three characters and one pianist, is based on the traditional story by Seymour Barab. Free public performances will be held 6:30 p.m. April 16 at the Hawai'i State Library and 6:30 p.m. June 12 at the Salt Lake/Moanalua Public Library. Call 262-0687 for details.
