Achievers

Vincent Domen, a student at the University of North Dakota from Honolulu, received a Robert Campbell Foundation Scholarship from the university.

Derek Kurisu, executive vice president of KTA Super Stores and creator of the Mountain Apple brand, has been selected as the 2002 University of Hawai'i College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources Outstanding Alumnus.

Toby Steele, a student at Western Washington University from Pearl City, received a $500 President's Scholarship from the university.

Angela S. Yip of Honolulu was named the 2002 Hawaii Cherry Blossom Princess by the Hawaii State Society, which is part of the National Conference of State Societies based in Washington. Yip will represent Hawai'i, along with 65 other princesses representing states, territories and international embassies, at the Cherry Blossom Festival March 31-April 6 in Washington.
