State Blood Bank begins May drive

The Blood Bank of Hawai'i will conduct blood drives in several O'ahu communities in May.

To be a donor, you must be in good health, at least 18 years old, weigh 110 pounds or more and provide a valid photo ID. To make an appointment or for information, call the Blood Bank at 845-9966,

or visit the Web site at www.bbh.org.

Here's a schedule of May's blood drives:

May 8, Kaimuki municipal parking lot, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.; May 9, University of Hawai'i Hale Aloha cafeteria, special dining room, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.; May 11, Foodland Pupukea, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.; May 17, Kawaiaha'o Plaza, 6:30 a.m.-1 p.m.; May 18, Moili'ili Community Center, 7:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.; May 19, Windward Mall, 10 a.m.-4 p.m..

Also, May 21, Times Super Market Waimalu, 1:30-4:30 p.m.; May 24, Manoa Shopping Center, 11:30 a.m.-6 p.m.; May 25, Town Center of Mililani, 8 a.m;-3 p.m.; May 26, Hawai'i Kai Towne Center, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.; May 27, Wallace Theatres, Enchanted Lake, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.; May 28, Safeway Kailua, 2-6 p.m.
