Kids Day 2002 set for Tuesday
By Zenaida Serrano Espanol
Advertiser Staff Writer
Families will want to read all about the importance of child safety Tuesday in a special Kids Day 2002 issue of The Honolulu Advertiser. It will include an insert with information and tips for parents and teachers, interactive materials for the keiki, as well as winning student artwork and essays on "People and Things that Make Hawai'i Safe."
The special issues will be available throughout O'ahu and will be sold by volunteers who will be easy to spot on street corners in their bright Kids Day aprons. Among the volunteers will be television and radio personalities, and University of Hawai'i coaches. In addition, nearly 9,000 Kids Day papers will also be distributed at no charge to 46 public and private schools.
The Kids Day paper will be $1 each, and proceeds will benefit Parents and Children Together, a nonprofit family service agency, and its 12 family-strengthening programs. Call 847-3285 for details.
