Patron charged in knife threat

Arraignment proceedings began today for a 43-year-old California man accused of threatening a Waikiki restaurant manager with a knife on Saturday.

The suspect, Richard Kinerman of Valejo, Calif., was charged with first-degree terroristic threatening after a 9:20 a.m. incident at Denny's Restaurant, 205 Lewers St.

A restaurant manager noticed that Kinerman, a customer, seemed upset, police said. When the manager inquired, Kinerman allegedly stood up, pointed a knife at the manager and threatened to stab him.

He was apprehended on Kalia Road near Beachwalk.

Man stabbed in park attack

Police are looking for a teenage male who stabbed an 18-year-old man Friday night at Ala Wai Neighborhood Park.

An argument broke out about 7:50 p.m., pitting the victim and a friend against the assailant and two other males, police said.

The attacker allegedly pulled a knife from his backpack and chased the victim around the parking lot, stabbing him.

He was taken to The Queen's Medical Center in serious condition. Detectives have opened an attempted-murder investigation.

Stranger jumps into woman's car

A 25-year-old woman told police she was kidnapped Friday and forced to drive a man around O'ahu for three hours.

The woman said the suspect entered her car at Queen Emma Street about 4:30 p.m. and ordered her to drive. He got out of the car in the Waipahu area at 7:30 p.m. and fled. She drove home and reported the kidnapping to East Honolulu police.
