• Small business startup classes, sponsored by the HONOLULU COMMUNITY ACTION PROGRAM, will be offered free to low-income people. • Tomorrow is the reduced-cost entry deadline for the May 14 "WINNING LOCAL GOVERNMENT IT CONTRACTS," workshop, sponsored, in part by the Chamber of Commerce of Hawai'i and Hawai'i Technology Trade Association for information technology companies wanting to do business with local governments. • Free workshop for small businesses interested in obtaining federal money for research and development, with co-hosts High Technology Development Corp, and University Office of Technology Transfer and Economic Development. It will focus on how to tap into money given out each year by the U.S. Air Force. Guest speakers from Washington, D.C., will provide information on this grant program.
