Tonight's Must-See

"Frasier," 7 p.m., NBC. The night opens with an hourlong rerun that includes a truly wonderful scene. It begins when Frasier finds himself torn between his warmhearted girlfriend (Patricia Clarks) and his brassy ex-love (Jean Smart). Soon, he's in a dream sequence with many of the women in his life. Diane and Lilith (Shelley Long and Bebe Neuwirth) are there; so are Frasier's mom and more. The result is written and played like a perfect play. At 8 p.m., there's a new episode built around a common radio event: Frasier's show is being syndicated to Spokane — dumping a beloved old guy (Bill Hayes).

Of Note

"Laverne & Shirley Together Again," 7 p.m., ABC. We get lots of clips and comments from "Laverne & Shirley" comedy, plus Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams step back into their characters.

"Dish: Gossip in Hollywood," 7:10 p.m., AMC. For decades, gossip columnists suppressed all the juiciest stories. Then came "Confidential" magazine, which printed exposes and faced a historic 1957 trial. This documentary talks to movie stars (Lauren Bacall, Janet Leigh) and to such gossip mongers as Liz Smith, Rona Barrett, Steve Dunleavy and Mike Walker.
