Akana, McGee to help coach hoops camp

A basketball camp focusing on fundamentals and player development and featuring Brandyn Akana and Kalia McGee will be held June 17-21 at Manoa Valley District Park Gym.

There will be two sessions daily. Session No. 1 will be for players grades fifth through seventh from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30. Session No. 2 will be held for players eighth grade to 11th from 6:45 p.m. to 8:45.

The cost is $100 and each participant will receive a basketball and T-shirt.

Akana is a former Brigham Young-Hawai'i player and current BYUH assistant coach. McGee is a former University of Hawai'i player.

Also helping coach the camp will be Kawika Smith of Hawai'i Pacific University, Kahi Villa of BYUH, Janice Smith of Rutgers and Pierre Elliott of Pacific University.
