CHRISTIAN AKAU

Kamehameha golf

Senior shot a 5-under-par 66 at O'ahu Country Club and a 1-under 71 at Waialae Country Club two days later to win his second straight ILH championship.

BRANDON ALA

Kamehameha track and field

Senior set a state record by throwing the discus 196 feet, 11 inches during the ILH championship trials. The throw is the fifth-best in the nation this year, according to Dyestat.com's May 1 report. Ala also took second in the ILH shot put with a mark of 46-5 1/2.

LINDSAY BEIMES

Kamehameha track and field

Set an ILH championship meet record in the pole vault with a mark of 10 feet even, took fourth in the 300-meter low hurdles with a time of 48.97 seconds and took fifth in the 100 high hurdles with a time of 17.41.

MARI CHUN

Kamehameha golf

Sophomore shot a 3-over-par 76 at O'ahu Country Club and an 11-over 83 at Waialae Country Club two days later to win the ILH championship.

LAURAN DIGNAM

Iolani track and field

Senior set three ILH championship records and anchored the Raiders' winning 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams. The records were set in the 100 (12.20 seconds), 200 (25.06) and 400 (56.34). The previous 100 and 200 records were set in 1981. Her performance also helped the Raiders win their first-ever ILH girls championship.

Seabury Hall track and field

Sophomore set three MIL championship meet records, in the 800 (2 minutes, 15.6 seconds), 1500 (4:46.0) and 3000 (10:22.7).

NATALIE FUJIMOTO

Punahou track and field

Senior set an ILH championship meet record in the shot put with a mark of 43 feet even, breaking a record that had stood since 1977. She also won the discus event with a throw of 117 feet, 9 inches.

PATTI HARDIMON

Moanalua basketball

Junior guard scored 13 points in a 51-39 victory over Radford in an OIA tournament first-round game, then had 16 points to help the Menehune upset Eastern Division champion McKinley, 61-54, in two overtimes in quarterfinal action.

TODD IACOVELLI

Punahou track and field

Senior set an ILH championship meet record in the 3000 with a time of 9 minutes, 9.40 seconds and won the 1500 in a time of 4:15.21 to help lead the Buffanblu to their sixth boys title in seven years. His time in the 3000 was more than eight seconds faster than the previous record of 9:17.44 set in 1999.

MATT INOUYE

Mid-Pacific baseball

Senior catcher went 2-for-3 with three RBIs in a 9-6 victory over Iolani, then had a three-run triple to spark a five-run second inning as the Owls defeated the Raiders again, 5-3, to win the ILH tournament.

Mililani track and field

Senior set an OIA championship meet record in the 3000 with a time of 9 minutes, 27.88 seconds, more than four seconds faster than the record of 9:32.26 he set in 2000.

MOUNIA NIHIPALI

Kamehameha basketball

Sophomore scored 16 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to help the Warriors defeat Punahou, 44-39, and capture the ILH championship.

ARNOLD SANO

Moanalua golf

Sophomore shot an even-par 72 at Pearl Country Club to win the OIA championship after starting the day four strokes off the lead.

XYRA SUETSUGU

Roosevelt golf

Sophomore shot a 9-over-par 81 at Pearl Country Club and then made birdie on the first sudden-death playoff hole to win the OIA championship.

JARED AVEGALIO, Kahuku track and field — Won the discus with a throw of 160 feet, 6 inches and the shot put with a mark of 51-9 at the OIA championship meet.

DANE AWANA, Wai'anae baseball — Pitched a four-hitter, with four strikeouts, in the Seariders' 3-0 victory over 'Aiea that earned Wai'anae an OIA Western Division co-championship and the division's No. 1 seed in this week's playoffs.

MICHELLE BADURIA, Maryknoll basketball — Senior scored five of her game-high 22 points in overtime of the Spartans' 62-56 victory over Sacred Hearts.

CHRISTOPHER BATALICO, Mililani baseball — In six innings pitched, allowed one hit and struck out nine with one walk to help the Trojans blank Waialua, 2-0.

KEAHUA BOWMAN, St. Louis track and field — Won the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.17 seconds and took third in the 200 with a time of 23.34 at the ILH championship meet.

CARMEN CALPO, Pearl City track and field — Won the 800 with a time of 2:25.23 and was part of the Chargers' third-place 4x400 relay team.

JONATHAN CARDENAS, Pac-Five track and field — Won the 800 with a time of 2:01.73 at the ILH championship meet.

DAVID CHU, Kaiser baseball — Senior went 3-for-3 with a double, triple and home run in the Cougars' 17-11 victory over McKinley.

NIKOLAS CLAY, Pac-Five track and field — Won the long jump with a leap of 20 feet, 6 1/2 inches, took third in the high jump with a mark of 6 feet even and fifth in the 100 with a time of 11.48 seconds.

CHRISTAL CUADRA, Pac-Five track and field — Senior won the 1500 with a time of 4 minutes, 44.91 seconds and the 3000 with a time of 10:33.80 at the ILH championship meet. She also took second in the 800 with a time of 2:21.42.

GINA CUMMINGS, Kamehameha basketball — Senior scored a game-high 22 points in the Division II Warriors' 52-44 victory over Hawai'i Baptist.

MARCUS FELDER, Pearl City track and field — Won the triple jump with a leap of 42 feet, 9 1/2 inches at the OIA championship meet.

ASHLEE FELY, Kahuku track and field — Won the discus with a throw of 126 feet, 5 inches and the shot put with a mark of 35-5 at the OIA championship meet.

TIMOTHY FLOWERS, Leilehua track and field — Won the long jump with a leap of 22 feet, 1 1/2 inches, took third in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.36 seconds, was second in the 200 with a time of 22.83 and was part of the Mules' fourth-place 4x100 relay team at the OIA championship meet.

NICK FRAZIER, Kamehameha track and field — Won the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.84 seconds and took fourth in the 200 with a time of 23.38 at the ILH championship meet.

MARISSA GORDON, Kaiser track and field — Won the 400 with a time of 1 minute, 1.88 seconds and was part of the Cougars' winning 4x400 and third-place 4x100 relay teams at the OIA championship meet, helping Kaiser win its first OIA title since 1990.

KATIE GREENLEE, Iolani track and field — Won the long jump with a leap of 16 feet, 4fl inches and the triple jump with a mark of 35-7 1/4 at the ILH championship meet to help the Raiders win their first girls title.

BECKY HOGUE, Punahou basketball — Scored 15 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in a 54-38 victory over University High and scored 16 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and blocked four shots in the Buffanblu's 44-39 loss to Kamehameha in the ILH championship game.

JUSTIN HUMALON, St. Louis baseball — Went 3-for-3 with a home run in a 15-4 victory over Punahou, then went 2-for-3 in a 2-0 loss to Kamehameha in the ILH tournament.

LEALA HUMBERT, Hawai'i Prep water polo — Junior was named Most Valuable Player of the first BIIF girls water polo championship tournament. HPA defeated Kealakehe, 11-8, in the final.

BRANDON ISHII, Kalani baseball — Went 2-for-3, including a grand slam, in the Falcons' 7-5 victory over Kailua.

LATIA JOHNSON, Leilehua track and field — Won the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.15 seconds, took third in the 200 with a time of 27.64 and was part of the Mules' second-place 4x100 relay team at the OIA championship meet.

KALA KA'AIHUE, Iolani baseball — Junior hit an RBI double and two two-run homers in the Raiders' 9-6 loss to Mid-Pacific in the ILH tournament.

BRANDON KAI, Kamehameha track and field — Won the 100-meter high hurdles with a time of 15.26 seconds and took third in the long jump with a leap of 20 feet, 3 1/2 inches at the ILH championship meet.

KRISHA KAI, Kahuku track and field — Won the high jump with a leap of 5 feet, 1 inch and the triple jump with a mark of 35-10 and took third in the 100 low hurdles with a time of 16.39 seconds at the OIA championship meet.

LEILANI KALUHIOKALANI-MYERS, Castle track and field — Won the 1500 with a time of 5 minutes, 2.71 seconds, took second in the 800 with a time of 2:28.98 and was part of the Knights' fourth-place 4x400 relay team.

ISAAC KAMAI, Kamehameha baseball — Pitched a four-hitter, with four strikeouts and one walk, in the Warriors' 2-0 victory over St. Louis in the ILH tournament.

KENT KELLY, Leilehua track and field — Won the high jump with a leap of 5 feet, 11 inches at the OIA championship meet.

RYAN KINOSHITA, Moanalua track and field — Won the pole vault with a mark of 10 feet, 6 inches at the OIA championship meet.

PILI KITASHIMA, Kamehameha track and field — Won the boys pole vault with a mark of 13 feet even at the ILH championship meet.

KELLY LAM, Punahou track and field — Won the 300 low hurdles with a time of 47.36 seconds at the ILH championship meet.

JENNIFER LAU, Punahou track and field — Won the 100 high hurdles with a time of 15.87 seconds and took second in the 300 low hurdles with a time of 47.48 at the ILH championship meet.

KEPUA LEE, Moanalua basketball — Scored 11 points in the Menehune's 51-39 victory over Radford in the first round of the OIA playoffs, then scored 13 points in a 61-54 double-overtime upset of Eastern Division champion McKinley in the quarterfinals.

CHAD MILLER, Iolani track and field — Won the high jump with a leap of 6 feet, 2 inches and took third in the triple jump with a mark of 40-4fl at the ILH championship meet.

CHRIS MOLS, Roosevelt baseball — Senior went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs in the Rough Riders' 7-6 victory over Moanalua that earned Roosevelt an OIA Eastern Division co-championship and the division's No. 1 seed in this week's playoffs.

CHRISTI MORRISSEY, Iolani track and field — Freshman won the 800 meters with a time of 2 minutes, 19.51 seconds, took second in the 1500 with a time of 4:54.30 and ran a leg on the winning 4x400 relay team at the ILH championship meet, helping the Raiders win their first girls title.

CHUN MEI NICKLES, Mililani track and field — Won the pole vault with a mark of 10 feet at the OIA championship meet.

DIANE OKUBO, University High basketball — Made 7 of 9 field goals, including 3 of 5 from beyond the arc, and finished with 18 points in a loss to Punahou.

JERRY PERREIRA, Roosevelt track and field — Won the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.26 seconds and the 200 with a time of 22.58, took fourth in the high jump with a leap of 5 feet, 10 inches and was part of the Rough Riders' second-place 4x100 relay team at the OIA championship meet. His effort helped Roosevelt win its first OIA title.

JESSICA ROHR, Kaiser track and field — Won the 100 high hurdles with a time of 15.86 seconds and the 300 low hurdles with a time of 46.79 and was part of the winning 4x400 relay team that helped Kaiser win its first OIA championship since 1990.

KELIKA ROBINSON, Pac-Five track and field — Won the girls high jump with a leap of 5 feet, 1 inch at the ILH championship meet.

ASHLEY RUFF, Kamehameha basketball — Scored all eight of her points in the second half and had two key baskets and rebounds in the final two minutes to help the Warriors rally from a six-point deficit to defeat Punahou, 44-39, and capture the ILH championship.

GEORGE SEYMOUR, Roosevelt track and field — Won the 800 with a time of 2 minutes, 1 second at the OIA championship meet.

CHRISTINA SIERRA, Moanalua basketball — Scored a game-high 21 points to lead the Menehune to a 61-54 double-overtime upset of OIA Eastern Division champion McKinley in the league quarterfinals.

DALIA SOLIA, Kaimuki basketball — Junior wing scored a game-high 21 points, including 10-for-10 free-throw shooting in the second half, of the Bulldogs' 47-37 road victory at Leilehua in the first round of the OIA playoffs. She also scored a team-high 23 points in a quarterfinal loss to Kalaheo.

COREY SUPRANOVICH, Kahuku baseball — Went 2-for-3 and scored three runs, including the game-winner on a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning of the Red Raiders' 6-5 victory over Castle. The win earned Kahuku a share of its first OIA Eastern Division championship.

DARRICK TANIGAWA, Pearl City baseball — Went 3-for-3 with two RBIs, including the game-winning single with two outs in the seventh inning of the Chargers' 4-3 victory over Leilehua.

TROY TATEISHI, St. Louis track and field — Won the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.15 seconds and took second in the 300 low hurdles with a time of 40.70.

SOPHIA TUNSTALL, Mililani track and field — Won the 200 with a time of 27.05 seconds and was part of the Trojans' winning 4x100 and second-place 4x400 relay teams at the OIA championship meet.

DEREK TURBIN, Punahou track and field — Senior won the triple jump with a leap of 44 feet, 7 1/4 inches, took second in the long jump with a mark of 20-4fl and anchored the Buffanblu's winning 4x400 relay team to help Punahou win its sixth ILH championship in seven years.

DANE UPERESA, Punahou track and field — Senior won the shot put with a mark of 53 feet, 8 1/2 inches and took second in the discus with a throw of 152-6 at the ILH championships, helping the Buffanblu win their sixth championship in seven years.

KYLE WADE, Radford track and field — Won the 110 high hurdles with a time of 15.55 seconds at the OIA championship meet.

JASMINE YOSHINO, Kaiser track and field — Won the long jump with a leap of 16 feet, 7 inches and took second in the triple jump with a mark of 34-4 at the OIA championship meet.

LANA YOUNG, Iolani basketball — With three starters out with injuries, scored a game-high 19 points to lead the Raiders to a 44-39 victory over St. Francis.

ADAM ZEITHAMMEL, Radford track and field — Won the 400 with a time of 51.65 seconds at the OIA championship meet.

LATOYA WILY, Kalaheo basketball — Scored a game-high 25 points to lead the Mustangs to a 64-49 victory over Kaimuki in the OIA quarterfinals.
