Etheridge ticket details

By Derek Paiva
Advertiser Staff Writer

Ticket prices and a start time for Grammy Award-winning rocker Melissa Etheridge's debut Hawai'i concerts, first reported in The Advertiser last month, have been set by promoter Tom Moffatt.

Etheridge will perform at Blaisdell Arena at 7:30 p.m. on July 19, and at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center at 7 p.m. on July 20. Reserved-seating tickets for both concerts are $45 and $55.

Tickets for the singer's O'ahu concert go on sale at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Blaisdell box office and all Ticket Plus outlets including Foodland and Sack 'N Save stores statewide, the UH-Manoa Campus Center, MWR Kunia and military outlets. Tickets may be charged by phone at 526-4400 or bought online at www.ticketplushawaii.com. Tickets for Etheridge's Maui concert also go on sale Saturday at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center box office. For Maui ticket information and to charge by phone, call 242-7469.

Etheridge's Hawai'i dates fall in the middle of a 38-city North American tour supporting her 2001 CD "Skin." In a switch from her solo "Live ... and Alone" tour last summer, the singer's upcoming dates will feature solid backing musicians including bassist Mark Browne and longtime John Mellencamp drummer Kenny Aronoff. Both musicians were featured on "Skin," Etheridge's seventh studio album.
